Degrees in Digital Media Production
Overview
Digital media production and animation graduates go on to create, produce, and distribute interactive media via video, audio and the web for the purposes of communication and entertainment. Digital Media Production teaches its students necessary leadership skills, computer science and engineering technology skills you need to begin your career. Those obtaining a degree in Digital Media Production will find employment in television and digital media production in a variety of different industries such as film, audio, and video production, interactive media production and authoring, instructional design, editing, script writing and graphics. Your skills will provide you with a strong foundation of planning, scripting, directing and producing television and video programs.
Degree Description
Typical coursework in a Digital Media Production program includes such classes as television production writing, computer systems for video, digital imaging for video and distance learning production. Upon graduation one will have created a media-specific portfolio or demo reel that will impress prospective employers. Most obtaining an undergraduate degree will be prepared for entry-level positions such as production assistants, assistant editors and assistant producers. Graduate level programs are also available but not always necessary for employment. Graduate degrees will allow one to compete for advanced positions. A Digital Media Production program can be completed in as little as three years.
